How can I rid myself of static electricity?

I don't know if you would call it scientific, but hairspray seems to work. I spray my clothes sometimes when I have static cling. I am not sure why, but static electricity is more of a problem during the fall and winter months. make sure you touch something metal before pumping gas. you do not want to create static electricity at the pump.Try not to drag your feet when you walk this might be the reason for the cabinet shock.
