People with a helix cartilage piercing?

So last tuesday, I pierced my cartilage by myself (like safety pin) and it's still really sore. I know it's not infected because I've been there, done that with my lobe... It's bearable but kinda painful if my hair catches it or if I lay down on it for too long... But after over a week, is it still supposed to be sore?
