Just got a 1994 Corolla... New keys might be needed?

I just bought a 1994 Corolla this Saturday (not from a Toyota dealer) and the only key they had for it was a worn down spare key. Now, the key works fine, but it looks really worn down and I'm afraid it might stop working one day. Is there any way I can go to a Toyota dealer, show them that I own the car by presenting them doents, and would they fabricate me a new key?
