Stroke Victim to Hospice Care?

Monday of last week my mother-in-law suffered a mive stroke that affected her left side and swallowing. They placed a feeding tube through her nose to administer medications and nurshment. She has an advanced directive that says no to a feeding tube into the stomach. They kept her GN in place until this past Monday. The doctor asked her if she wanted to go by her living will and she said yes. They removed her feeding tube from her nose and removed all IVs. She is now under hospice care and gets pleasure feedings (yogurt, gello, thickened water). The family would like to know how long she will be with us? We are worried that she will linger. Her doctor said within a few days and hospice has said a week or two. Mom is 91 yrs old and has colon cancer that she has started to complain about pain from in the last week. We just don't want her to linger in an unfriendly state.
