Umd problem?

ok i am trying to play Fifa 2006 on my psp. problem is it takes a long time for it to read, I dissasembled the umd and cleaned the plastic and the disc put it back together and it worked the problem is now it won't it just says disc could not be read sometimes though it reads it but freezes very fast. is the UMD reader damaged or is it the disk?
