Why are the Florida Gators ranked #2?

I have been reading about the crazy things going on with the BCS, but at least the BCS shows Oklahoma at #2. Why would anyone think Florida should be #2 (AP Poll)? Did those people not pay attention to strength of schedule and actually consider which teams Florida beat (as opposed to which teams Oklahoma beat)?
